PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE WORK ON EDUCATION FACILITIES
Why they are critical for keeping sites compliant
We have recently completed a CCTV drainage survey at a school in the South East as part of a wider planned maintenance project.
Safe Working Considerations
Working on education facilities presents a number of additional considerations. Our engineers hold enhanced DBS certifications and work closely with site teams to ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to pupils, staff and the day-to-day operation of the school.
By carefully planning our surveys around the school’s activities, we were able to complete the inspection while maintaining a safe environment for everyone on site.
A CCTV drainage survey provides valuable insight into the condition of below-ground assets, identifying defects, blockages and potential failures before they develop into costly reactive repairs. Our reports include images, recommended remediation strategies and predicted costs.
Key Findings
The findings onsite suggested that maintenance work was overdue, and consequently, access was restricted in places and the efficiency and capacity of the system was severely handicapped, increasing the likelihood of blockages, flooding and operational issues occurring.
The most critical issues found were as follows:
- De-silting and de-scaling works required
- Defective pipes requiring repair
- Root ingress
- Possible misconnections
- Grease trap and pump maintenance
- Collapsed pipes requiring excavation
The Value of PPM
Maintenance work is essential whether its a school, university, commercial property or industrial site for both current operational benefit and later down the line if refurbishment works are in the pipeline, potential disposal or to ensure the system is working effectively and efficiently.
