WJ SHIRLEY’S GROUND BREAKING YEAR
As we head into the new year, we are reflecting on what was a monumental year for WJ Shirley; a year best described as living through history without even realising it.
2025 proved to be a pivotal chapter in the company’s existence, marked by significant growth, strategic expansion, and continued investment in our people. From a substantial increase in revenue, to the opening of an additional office and the expansion of our operational teams, 2025 has been a remarkable year for us.
Revenue growth reached 42%, an exceptional level of progress and reinforcing WJ Shirley’s position as an industry leader.
A PEOPLE ORIENTED BUSINESS
We remain committed to investing in our team to support professional development and increase our company-wide expertise in every area. Director Aaron Lynch, and Contracts Managers Ben and Paul Middleton achieved their SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) accreditation, a valuable and highly-sort after qualification to bring into our growing business.
We held a number of Team Days throughout the year. A chance for everyone to down-tools, get to know each other better and share our goals for the future. With our people at the heart of our operations and a nationwide footprint, opportunities to bring everyone together under one roof are invaluable.
In August we celebrated Laci, our longest standing engineer’s 10 year work anniversary. When Laci first joined WJ Shirley, there was only 1 team and 1 person in the office, so Laci really has seen our evolution from the start.
OUR NATIONAL REACH
Our increase in nationwide presence prompted the opening of our 6th office, located in Spinningfields, Manchester in October. This has since vastly increased our volume of work in the North West and North of the country; areas where we would like to further increase our footprint.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2026
Whilst our targets are centred around expansion, we are also ambitious to become the best place to work and the employer of choice for the best in the industry.
We are also excited to strengthen existing relationships with clients whilst also building new relationships with leaders in their field.
Internally, significant focus has been placed on the continued development of our engineers and consultants, reinforcing our position as the market leader and the only choice for the UK’s leading building consultancies, fund investors, and main contractors.
